Short-Term Health Insurance
Short-Term Health Insurance (also known as Temporary Health Insurance) is a special type of Individual Plan with a short life span. It’s a special type of Health Insurance created for individuals who are in the middle of a big change but still wish to be protected. What do we mean with big change? Situations such as moving to a different state, changing jobs, or recently graduating from school, among others, could cause you to lose your previous Health Insurance plan, or replace it by another one that better fills your needs. While this happens, these Temporary Insurance plans (that have a validity period from 30 days to 6 months) keep you covered only for major eventualities and expenses (pre-existing conditions and routine visits are not covered usually).
Please keep in mind when seeking Short-Term Health Insurance that these plans are intended for special cases only, and should not be used to replace standard individual or group Health Insurance.
